On September 26, 2014, 43 male students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers’ College were forcibly taken and then disappeared in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. On now at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden: An intimate collection of letters, medicines, and photographs, 淑芳你好嘛 (Suk-Fong Nay Ho Mah) / Suk-Fong, How Are You? The final installment of PAUL WONG PROJECTS Occupying Chinatown residency. The exhibition runs Jan 12 – Feb 24.
Opening today at McMaster Museum of Art in Hamilton, Ontario: Troublemakers. The Garden will host a medicinal soup-making workshop, featuring Marilynne Jackson, oldest daughter of Suk-Fong. Participants will experience a unique demonstration of Chinese cooking with medicinal applications, passed down to Marilynne from her mother. Spaces are limited; registration is required for this free public event.
